Thousands of gay men from across the USA converged on Miami and South Beach this past Thanksgiving weekend for the debut of URGE Miami Festival. Produced by Luis Morera, Billy Kemp, and Hilton Wolman, the event was a massive four-day, three-night spectacular that featured a list of the world’s most famous circuit DJs. Among them were Isaac Escalante, Renato Cecin, Alex Lo, Joe Gauthreaux, Phil Romano, Suri, Las Bibas From Vizcaya Kidd Madonny, Onyx, and Jerac.
The URGE Miami Festival weekend started at M3 Studios with Urge’s first collaboration with Mexico’s Arena Festival and We Party. The Saturday night event was “Papa Sundown,” a partnership with Eliad Cohen’s renowned Papa brand. The massive Sunday night “Holy-Wood” event took place at Story, South Beach’s premier nightclub. It was the venue’s first gay event in over five years.
URGE Miami Festival closed with a Monday marathon at Elks. The morning party began before sunrise and continued late into the afternoon, with legendary DJ Morabito at the turntables.
Next up for Morera, Kemp and Wolman will be their spectacular New Years’ Eve URGE: DayOne event at Club Mansion in Miami. The party will be headlined by DJ’s Mauro Mozart and Ben Bakson.
“It will be musically rejuvenating,” Hilton Wolman tells Out Traveler and unlike competing parties over NYE weekend, Wolman says URGE: DayOne will focus on uninterrupted music. “Any live performances we have will blend in with the music being played so it will be non-stop dancing and revelry.”
Tickets for URGE: DayOne is available now at UrgeMiami.com. VIP tickets include express entry, plus access to the upstairs balcony and viewing areas with private bathrooms as well as a dedicated bar to purchase drinks without standing in long lines. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Miami Beach Pride.
