Renowned British fashion house Burberry returned to Kensington Gardens during London Fashion Week to unveil its Summer 2026 collection. The set was deceptively simple yet visually arresting: a blue sky punctuated by scattered clouds floated above a bare, earthy runway, establishing a dialogue between the serene and the industrial, the timeless and the immediate. From the very first look, it was evident that Daniel Lee had designed with total freedom and without limits, fully exploring what the house could become under his vision.
The audience reflected the energy of the show. Elton John, Jonathan Bailey, Skepta, Central Cee, and Jon Kortajarena, among many others, attended head-to-toe in Burberry. Rather than overshadowing the clothing, their presence reinforced it, highlighting the cultural breadth of Lee’s vision and the way his designs resonate across generations and spheres of influence.
Music dictated the pace. Long-time collaborator Benji B curated a selection of Black Sabbath tracks, injecting a raw, visceral energy that punctuated every step on the runway. The garments themselves were equally commanding: leather trenches with a western inflection, suits that seemed lived-in, collegiate-inspired jackets and leather treated to mimic denim moved effortlessly with sharply tailored pieces, bold hues, and unexpected textures. Each look balanced elegance with playfulness, past with present, street with couture, harmonising with the music to weave a coherent, layered narrative.
Accessories completed each look: extra-fine scarves knotted at the neck fluttered with movement, oversized bags, chunky-soled boots and equestrian-inspired details, all adding weight, proportion, and attitude without ever detracting from the clothing itself.
Burberry feels fresh and stronger than ever. With this season’s line, the house delineates a clear before and after: breaking with convention while maintaining a subtle reverence for its heritage, imbuing every piece and accessory with energy, optimism, and a sense of liberated creativity.
