Matthew M. Williams continues the ongoing dialogue between the sense of Parisian elegance established by Hubert de Givenchy and the relaxed attitude and aesthetic of a brand rooted in his native California.
Comprising over 40 looks, 21 men’s looks in total, the designer explores the contrast between heritage and modernity with a free-spirited attitude. Tailoring expands on directional runway looks, emphasizing ease and utilitarian charm. Building on the idea of uniformity, whether for the office or the street, Williams mixes ideas and finishes: tailored jackets are paired with denim or military trousers, Givenchy emblems are embedded in fabrics, print techniques are enhanced, and traditional luxury fabrics are mixed with technical materials such as garment-dyed nylon. A new accessory, the G-Clip, gives this season’s tailoring an elevated air.
Accessories are more than that, men’s bags are designed as easy-to-match wardrobe staples that add a finishing touch to tailoring or streetwear. Men’s jewelry is also growing rapidly, offering the Givenchy man an extra touch of distinction.
